vIRGINIA ALLEN
Virginia grew up in Fairborn Ohio. She got a job while in high school working for Wright-Patterson AFB. She then took a job working for the US Navy in Indianapolis, where she met her husband. They moved from the Midwest to Florida to Seattle to New Jersey, then returned to Indiana to raise a family.
Both being musically inclined, they started a classic rock band, and enjoyed performing in the area for several years. Virginia has been a fan of photography for a long time, as well. Then came the covid lockdowns, and pretty much all that was open was a local art store giving classes. She and her husband took several classes there for over a year, then moved on to YouTube instructors and The Great Courses online classes. At the moment, her focus has been, unintentionally, photo realism. She is expanding her art into abstract, impressionism, liquid pours, oil over acrylic painting and drawing. So many choices, so much fun! |
dEBI BLACK
Debi’s greatest desire is to share God’s creation through the expression of color showing the light of His love for His creation in that process. If you look carefully at her work, you will find a feather hidden in each painting, except her very first painting, depicting God’s angels ever watching over us doing His work and sharing His love.
She studied art at Purdue University and The Art Institute of Cincinnati. In addition, she has participated in Art workshops all over the nation from Wyoming, Colorado, and Florida to North Carolina, Ohio, Indiana and Wisconsin. She is collected nationally and show regionally. Debi’s work can be found in several galleries in Southeastern Indiana and in shows in Ohio, Kentucky, and Tennessee. You can also find her work online at www.art4thelight.com. |

OKSANA PICKENS
Oksana is an artist living and creating in Columbus, Indiana.
Oksana’s artwork featured at Art on Main has been created using acrylic and different inks. As she began painting, Oksana often doesn’t have a clear image in mind. She finds herself drawn to intensity of color combinations and magnetism of interesting patterns as much as colorful folk and whimsical art. Art which has a clear framework in mind and still leaves room for imagination is most attractive to Oksana. Oksana has painted in mediums such as water colors and pastel and has had her art featured at local gift shops and galleries. |
